Entries close May 1, 2018.
Entries postmarked after May 1, 2018, will be charged a post-entry fee of $20 per horse. Entry and stall fees must accompany entry blanks. Stalls will not be reserved until payment has been received. Entries wishing to be stabled together, must indicate so on each individuals stabling list. Stall fee is $150 and is non-refundable after the closing date.
There is a $25 Office fee per horse. There is an additional $25 charge to exhibitors who fail to pay fees prior to leaving the show, including exhibitors who have a check on file. There will be a $30 charge for non-negotiable checks. Entry fees are only refundable with a veterinary certificate.
In all classes for registered horses only, the proper registered name and number and proper owner must be listed on the entry form. A copy of registration papers must be included. Add or scratch entries must be made before the close of the previous session.
Arrival & Departure
No horses will be allowed to arrive on the grounds before 12:00 pm on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. Stalls will be available on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 12:00 pm - not before - and must be vacated by 10:00 pm on Sunday, May 27, 2018.
No horse show parking anywhere near school buses.
Campers may arrive after 7:00 am on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. Anyone wishing to bring a camper before MUST contact and make arrangements with John Lampropoulos, Show Manager, at 603.770.1884 and will be charged an early arrival fee of $30 per day. Camper hook-ups with water and electricity are available at a charge of $195. A dumping station is available. Trailers used as campers will be charged $195.
RV & Stalls
Stall fees are non-refundable after the closing date. Stalls will be available on Wednesday May 23, 2018 at 12:00 pm and must be vacated by Sunday, May, 2018 by 10:00 pm.
Exhibitors are responsible for any damaged incurred by them or their horses to the tent stalls, barns, show ring, or other buildings on the grounds. All strapping, zip ties, hooks, anything used for decorations/tack areas must be removed by exhibitors before vacating the grounds.
The Topsfield Fair Association, Topsfield Fairgrounds, The Greater Boston Charity Horse Show, UpReach Therapeutic Equestrian Center, Inc., and all horse show officials, committee members, or employees will not be responsible for any legal proceedings or liabilities from any such accident or loss of property caused to or by the property or employees of such exhibitor.
All barns must have grounded electrical cords (3-prong) this includes fans (box fans are prohibited), extension cords, and drop lights per order of the Fire Marshal.
Classes & Officials
The GBCHS committee reserves the right to change/add any official without notification. The GBCHS reserves the right to cancel, combine, or divide any class where it is deemed advisable and to reschedule any divided class. A class may be cancelled due to insufficient entries. The committee reserves the right to return any entry/entrance fee before the opening of the show without being liable for compensation.
Holds will be granted at the end of discretion of the paddock master and/or show chairman. These must be requested before the start of each session. We will try to cooperate with an exhibitor requesting a hold, but will not be responsible if a hold is not honored. If a hold is granted, the in-gate will be held for two minutes, then open for two minutes before the class is closed.
No classes will be stripped.
No person will be allowed in the ring except the required ones. No person shall approach a judge unless first obtaining permission from the show steward. The steward will not permit any exhibitor or trainer to speak with the judge until the horse or rider in question has completed its last class of the show. Any exhibitor disregarding this rule will be asked to cancel all entries and forfeit entry fees.
Equine Health Guidelines
Health requirements per The Department of Health require that all horses provide a copy of negative Coggins dated within 6-months of the show for out of state and 12-months for in-state horses.
Proof of Eastern and Western Equine Encephalitis vaccination also required.
Dogs must be on a leash at all times.
No smoking allowed in any buildings/tents on the fairgrounds.
